Red Hat Developer Refresh

Role: Art Director

Red Hat's Developer community has a rich and vibrant history and user-base. I was asked to direct a cross-functional team to reimagine the visual system surrounding it.

Earlier in the year, another team of creatives laid the foundation for a brand-wide visual update called the Red Hat Hybrid Style. This style combined flat organic elements, distinct 3D objects and oftentimes photography when applicable. Using the hybrid style as the jumping-off point, we examined and distilled a wide range of ideas that could simulataneoulsy represent the Red Hat Developer story and community and fit into our broader brand identity.

Our result was an overall design aesthetic with a sophisticated, sleek approach that conveys a sense of flow state and focus. The look is defined by its intentional use of deconstructed 3D objects that speak to developers’ sensibilities and are framed in a dark color palette with complimentary photography when needed.
